Have you ever watched a show and thought, "Wow, I'd love to live in that world on my screen." Well, lucky for you, I'm here to share some art that can give you that feeling in your own home!
Nothing about Emily in Paris seems realistic, which is why we love it. The colorful wardrobe, the dreamy sets, the gardens and vinyards. This Giverny, France-based landscape is the perfect fit. In fact, rumor has it that season 4 even includes a visit to Giverny!
Je l’aime, c’est parfait!
Friends
When I think of Friends, the first thing that pops into my head is Monica’s charming shabby-chic purple apartment. I always loved the mix and match furniture, and her cute yellow table with mis-matched colorful chairs is my favorite part. Add your own colorful chair with Chair in Absinthe as a welcoming statement: there is always room for one more friend.
Bridgerton
Dearest Gentle Reader,
This author finds herself wishing she were escorted to grandiose balls and promenading in impeccably kept parks and gardens in lovely (and totally not period-accurate but nevertheless stunning) gowns. Romantics will appreciate this bright pastel landscape, complete with actual bridge! It’s like one has been transported to the Ton.
I think it’s a love match!
Sweet Magnolias
This show was definitely an escape for me when it first aired in 2020 – IT'S sweet, about friendship and romance, and not too stressful, taking place in an adorable town. WARM southern vibes always harken back to the delicate and lovely-scented magnolia: An evergreen tree with white blossoms that bloom over and over during the spring and summer. How could one not like a magnolia? (Also applies if you love Steel Magnolias & Dolly).
Golden Girls
Golden Girls is a wickedly funny show, full of friendship and cheesecake (iykyk), but also that iconic 80s Miami home! BRIMMING WITH pastels and color and a plant-filled lanai, I couldn’t think of a painting that matches better than this still life packed with summery fruit, sunshine yellow, water blues, and luscious greens. Thank you for being a friend (and having great taste in décor)!
The Gilded Age
If Gilded Age opulence is what you love, look no further than these floral paintings. Framed in gold-leaf frames, these small paintings make a lovely statement that would fit right in with Mrs. Chamberlin’s art collection. And if that statement is, “I would totally dazzle at the opening night of the Metropolitan Opera in my private box,” well, who’s to stop you?
The Bear
Sure, it’s no buttery potato chip omelette, but I think even Carmy and Sydney would be impressed by this spread. Presentation matters! (and you didn’t even have to cook it or worry about a Michelin star).
Anne of Green Gables (1985) / Anne with an E
Truly, either show- I loved both, as different as they are. I thought, “what pops into my head when I think of Anne?” and I literally said to myself, “fields and flowers.” Well, that and a slate breaking over Gilbert’s head (iconic), but this painting puts me mentally in Avonlea, running through rolling fields on my way to meet my bosom friend at The Lake of Shining Waters. And isn’t that really the dream?
Downton Abbey
Is this your comfort show, too? I love getting lost in the world of Downton Abbey. Have tea time in the Drawing Room with the Dowager and Lady Mary while the children visit for one hour before their nurses take them away again. How else could one stay wrinkle-free in case a gentleman caller stops by? And what is a week-end, anyway?
Outer Banks
Taking place mostly outdoors, the scenery of Outer Banks is filled with water; However, it also widely features the quintessential giant Live Oak trees found along the coastal southeast of the U.S. With their giant trunks and twisty branches, these trees are some of my favorites to paint. Take a break from treasure-hunting and rest in the shade of the trees. You won’t regret it.
I can't wait to see your inspired and newly decorated space!
