I did a fun interview with Mari Robeson for her Love Lou Lou Youtube Podcast and it's out today! Mari is a multi-talented artist, designer, and author based out of central California. Her podcast, Love Lou Lou, was created in memory of her sister (a beautiful story), where she and other artists discuss their creative journey, creative business tips, a little behind the scenes into their work, advice for other creatives, and more.

It's the perfect thing to listen to while you're traveling for the 4th, cleaning (ha), or just relaxing. (I love listening to podcasts while I go on walks!) The fun thing about a Youtube Podcast is that the interview is coordinated with photos that illustrate what we're talking about - kind of like interactive show notes.
In the episode, we discuss my journey to being a painter, discussing my costume design past as well as my early business journey making embroideries (there are pictures, y'all....).

You can watch/listen to the episode here (and you should go ahead and subscribe to her Youtube channel while you're at it so you never miss a new episode).
Thanks again to Mari for having me on your show. Hope you love the episode!

Recently I visited the house and gardens at Dumbarton Oaks, an historic estate hidden away in residential Georgetown in Washington, D.C. I was awe-struck by the grounds, so tree-covered among the hills that you forget you're not in the middle of the countryside!

I took several weeks in June and July and experimented with acrylics on raw canvas for the first time. I mostly work on wooden panel and paper in my current practice, and it's been years since I worked on canvas.
