Summer Recap

Summer Recap

Hey y'all! It's been a busy summer here, so I thought it would be nice to have a little recap.

Our summer started in May with a family vacation to Isle of Palms, SC. It was beautiful and we even made a few trips to Charleston (my favorite city!)

After we got back, I had two stints working in open studios at the Torpedo Factory in Old Town Alexandria in June and early July.

I got a ton of work done while I was there, had a collection release, and started a new series of floral works on paper (which will be released very soon -- September 4th!)

Later in July, I closed my Etsy shop, and we traveled to Denver for a wedding. I unfortunately got altitude sickness (ugh), but it was still beautiful.

My painting "Excerpts from My Journal, 2009 - 2010, as Told in Words and Pictures" was accepted into the July Open Juried Exhibit at The Art League Gallery.

In August I continued to work on my floral paper series, and we stopped at the Greenbrier Resort in West Virginia for a little day trip on the way to visit my family. I always love visiting the Greenbrier, even if just for lunch!

With September on the way, I am looking forward to another 2-week stint working at the Torpedo Factory from September 2 - September 15, and am excited to release my large works on paper "Floral Variations on a Theme" on September 4th. All pieces are 22"x30" acrylics on heavy watercolor paper. Be sure to sign up for my newsletter for early access to the series!
